A book that's just ducky.

The end of last year found me tired and, admittedly, a bit uninspired. Right before Christmas I got a package in the mail from an Internet contact à la Flickr. Fup was included with a note that said, "I know you like animals and so I hope you enjoy this as much as I did." I had never heard of this book and I'd like to think that I'm relatively well-read.

I chose to blog about this, not for the purpose of leaving a book review, but to comment on sources of inspiration. The unexpected can be just the right thing to kick creativity back into high gear. So can a good laugh, a wacky old man and a very special duck. The package that came in the mail for me was a kind gesture from someone I barely know but now consider to be my friend. What's more, this tale made me laugh so hard at times and it and wrenched my heart at others. Within a mere 59 pages, I found some profound thinking in simply put thoughts like, "It just ain't possible to explain some things, maybe even most things. It's interesting to wonder on them and do some speculation, but the main thing is you have to accept it — take it for what it is, and get on with your gettting."

If you're looking for something to get the creative juices flowing or if you just want to be entertained, I'd recommend this book. But you don't have to take my word for it... — Aggie, Senior Designer
