I almost felt sorry for

I almost felt sorry for Nastia. I cannot imagine what is was like to walk in the shadow of her Olympian father. Anyway, it was a lot for a young girl to have to live up to. As we all know, successful brands are able to shine among the competition, withstand controversy and deliver consistently to it audiences. That said, I wouldn’t count Nastia out just yet.

I think this assessment is

I think this assessment is dead on. Lukin expressed hostility, anxiety and the frigid demeanor of a whippet. Great athlete? Sure. But beyond winning, these Olympics are about association. We all can't be Olympians, so we associate with them to borrow the experience. And who wants to associate with a stony little cyborg? Obviously the relationship to brands holds true, as well. The best products aren't always the ones that succeed. It takes so much more. People need to know how, and to want, to associate with them. I wouldn't give a brand known as Nastia a second thought. Unless, perhaps, it was a refrigerator.
